The Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is designed with a special focus on current Computer Applications. It is three years (six semesters) full time program. The BCA Programme aims to develop ability to interact with real-life situations and to build systems which can be efficiently processed on computers. The completion of the programme helps the students to take up positions in System Management and Project Management in leading IT Corporations.
The Degree of B.C.A of the University of Lucknow shall be conferred on the candidate who pursues the prescribed courses of study for six semesters and passes the examinations as prescribed under the relevant ordinances.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA): Career Prospects
A person who has completed BCA from any reputed institution will very easily get a job as a chief information officer, computer programmer, computer support service specialist, computer scientist, computer systems analyst, database administration, Information systems manager, software developer, software publisher, systems administrator, teacher or lecturer in any organization. However, if someone is willing to work in government organization there is a vacancy there as well. After BCA one can join government banks as clerks, probationary officer, short service commission for Navy or Army, IAS, IPS, CBI, Group examinations, RRB or UPSC.
lntermediate or equivalent examination with Mathematics/ Computer/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications/ Information Practices/ Computer Technology and Maintenance/ ITes as one of the subjects with at least 50% of marks for General / OBC (45% for SC & ST) based on the total marks of all subjects.
